I talked to the guy who still has it, it appears he's just going to sit on them.
I was thinking though, would anyone really want to listen to them if they could? I don't really know, but i'd think they're pretty personal. That's just the vibe i'd be getting. Still, i bet there was some pretty interesting **** on them.. nothing to amazing or anything, but stuff that would be valuable to bass players.
Too bad it isn't avaliable to everyone.
The one thing that pisses me off more then anything, is the more i read about these practice tapes, the more i get the sense that they want to give them to someone to carry on cliff's legacy. That's fine, but it's not going to happen. For one bold, ****ing too obvious reason:
Cliff was ****ing Cliff and that was all. He strove to be different. That's all there is to it. There are people out there, like me, who can take what he wrote and how he wrote it and figure out what's going on in his mind, but there will never be another cliff.
